Foxconn audio driver Realtek AC97 problems [solved]
Posted December 20th, 2008 by NikRecently I formatted a system. The system specifications where nice though it had a Foxconn motherboard.
I don't know if you are aware of that company but I wasn't.
So after installing Windows Xp with Service pack 3 integrated.
After the installation, windows did not recognize the onboard audio device. The specific Foxconn motherboard uses a Realtek chip with AC97 high definition audio.
So I tried everything, re-install, format and install but that did not solve it.
I installed UAA windows drivers but neither that solve the problem.
The sound device was unknown and windows device manager showed it with questionmark.
So I tried again with something I read on a forum. I downloaded the Realtek AC97 drivers from the Realtek website.
Then installed them, rebooted and TADA!! there was sound!
Keep in mind that before that I downloaded the drivers that where on Foxconn's website.
Conclusion: Don't buy Foxconn motherboard :-)

WAG200G Remote Management Problems [Solved]
Posted October 10th, 2008 by NikIf you try to manage remotely your Linksys WAG200G adsl modem and router then you have to notice the following things:
Enable remote management from the administration of your linksys router (it's located by default at http://192.168.1.1 and username and password is admin)
Check if your ISP (internet service provider) is blocking any ports.
Go to http://www.canyouseeme.org/ and see if port 8080 is open. (Change the port for more security)
If the port is open then you can visit your router with the following link https://your ip here:port
Firefox or Internet Explorer will not load the administration until you grand access of the certificate. Trust the certificate and Voila! A popup dialog will ask you for username and password.
Change username and password for security reasons.
That's it!!
Also from Applications&Gaming page you can forward any ports you want. For example web server, ftp server, remote desktop etc.
Hope it helped!

Make Money Online Ebooks ... NOT!
Posted June 18th, 2008 by NikDo you know that the most blogs out in the blogosphere are advertising books about how to make money online ?
So do you think really that you gonna make money by selling ebooks about making money.
I mean we have to be in sort of idiots to believe that.
Although I haven't bought anything yet, I have downloaded many "free" reports as they call them about making money online etc etc...
The free reports are full of ads, affiliate links and no valuable information.
Ok we forget that.
Now lets go to the real ebooks. What do you think they sell? Secrets ... perhaps, Ideas ... maybe, Tutorials ... could be, the same information you can find through little research ... Yes! how did you find it??
The real story is that when you buy an ebook about making money online you will find exactly the same information in articles, blog posts and newsletters, with a little research.

Is Entrecard a good way to increase my traffic ?
Posted June 16th, 2008 by NikIn this post I'll try to answer to that question because there is a lot of buzz around Entrecard and I don't know if it's worth the time.
I explain how the hole system works, and how you can use it to drive traffic to your site or blog.
What is Entrecard?
Simply put, Entrecard is a system where you place a widget (a portable chunk of code that can be installed and executed within any separate HTML-based web page) on your website and others can drop your card in it.
What is a card?
The card is a significance. Dropping the card it is as if you leave in your stain. In each cast you you take ec (entrecard credit) and another the user in which you drop it.
With ec you can buy advertisements.
The cost of ec of each website advertisement depends on how much advertisements has this user-website in it's cue.
A large cue means high cost, which means large popularity.

Desktop Publishing Tips
Posted June 11th, 2008 by NikDesktop Publishing Tips
By Michael Russell
Online publishing is not so difficult. You can just make a Blogger or Wordpress account and suddenly become a self-published author or you can use software like FrontPage to create a nice web page or you might as well start publishing a periodical newsletter. It's your call. The more you surf the Web and collect ideas from other sites, the more skilled you become.
