How to make your car to a mobile office

Because I need to travel with my car in many places and I need to have my emails, contacts and presentations with me I thought that it could be very good to apply to my car various projects that I found around the net that will help me to advance my work and my driving experience.

1. Portable Computer

First of all we need a netbook, you know the smaller versions of notebooks. At Amazon you can find many kinds of them.

Netbooks are cheap and can do the most of your office work, play podcasts, run thunderbird and sunbird, firefox and all the other tools you need to have with you when you going to a trip.

I suggest to buy one with at least 80gb of Hard drive, 1024 or 1G Ram, and 10 inch screen because the smaller ones are not so usable (I seem to have large fingers :)

So you have your netbook huh ?

Now prepare it for your car. Buy a car charger for your netbook, to charge it while on your trip.

2. GPS Navigation System

This post is about how you can get the most of your creativity and your creative mind

Beeing a fan of Apple's Macintosh computers, I had a conversation with a very good friend. Why is a Mac better than a Pc in multimedia, video/audio proccessing, graphic design, 3D animations etc ?

My friend provided the answer.

"Pc's and Mac's are the same" he clamed.

"You can use photoshop here and photoshop there, there is no difference at all"

You are right I said, Photoshop is the same. But think also of the other capabilities and featurees a Mac has.

Without any thoughts my friend answered "Well on my pc I can get the best software for image, video, audio proccessing I need. Why should I buy a Mac?"

So without having any strong argument I answered him with an example.

Offline view of an animated image (gif)

Dale asked me the following question:

"How can i save the dancing lady file so that i can show it (animated)
when i'm working offline?
"

Well Dale, it's easy. You get your mouse over the image and right click.

On the menu that pops up press "Save image as"

And save it on your Desktop or a folder. The magic is on the viewer that you open the image with. If it doesn't support animations then it won't animate.

Selling on Ebay - Tips for bloodless auctions

We are all hearing from Ebay and it's power on selling stuff. Making money etc etc.

Well I must say that I couldn't withstand the temptation to try it myself.

Ebay

So I give you some tips so you can learn from my mistakes:

Rule #1: Never start an action before knowing what to pay for !

Learn exactly what your shipment costs, your packaging costs, your money transfer costs are.

How do I protect my credit/debit card from being stolen ?

Offline protection, protection in the real world

  1. Do not give your credit cart number to anyone. Pay only using an authorised electronic payment machine wich is linked with a bank.
  2. Do not have your credit card pin written somewhere like your purse or briefcase. Remember if someone withdraws money with your pin then you can't do anything to get the money back.
  3. Change pin every 3 months. You can have 2 pins and every 3 months change it.
  4. Always check your receipts from the bank to see if something was purchased without your will.

How do I burn my mp3's in a cd ?

Mmm good question. A friend of mine asked this and here I am to answer it.

Well when you burn a cd with a utility like Nero then you have to select if it is a Data or an Audio cd. If you select data cd then your mp3 will be burned as is in the cd.

But then the problem is that if you want to play this on a regular cd player you simply can't. Your cd player cannot read mp's but only audio cd's.

So select Audio Cd and when inserting mp3's in your compilation Nero or whatever utility you use will convert them automatically to cda format (the format which is recognized by the cd players).

Now your regular cd player can play the and you can enjoy the music almost everywhere. If you have questions too don't hesitate to ask me.
