Azureus crashes

In my Ubuntu system I've installed azureus to download my torrent files.

I have to say that at first I tried Bittorrent download manager but I wasn't satisfied at all !

Then I installed azureus from the Synaptic Package Manager.

Azureus is the top torrent client. I had a problem though.

Azureus crashed at unexpected times, without some reason. It crashed when downloading only one file.

I must say that after it's first crash, when loading it again it crashed at start. It won't even load this time.

After some serious search, I found that the log files and the lock file made it crash.

So I tried these commands:

rm .azureus/.lock

rm .azureus/logs/save/*

rm .azureus/logs/*.log

These lines worked, at least for some time. I was very happy that I 've solved the problem and now could download my torrents without interruption.

But it wasn't fixed. Azureus crashed again and again and again.

So the SOLUTION (after lot of searching) was to find the azureus distribution and copy the .jar file to the installed one.

So I did. I found the files here ... and downloaded them.

I' ve extracted the tarball with tar xvjf Azureus_x.x.x.x_linux...tar.bz2 and then I overwritten the .jar file.

In my pc I gave that sudo cp /home/panigrc/Desktop/azureus/Azureus2.jar /usr/share/java/Azureus2.jar

After that I've started azureus and it had some errors with the plugins. So I've copied them too.

sudo cp /home/panigrc/Desktop/azureus/plugins/azplugins/azplugins_2.1.3.jar /home/panigrc/.azureus/plugins/azplugins/azplugins_2.1.3.jar

sudo cp /home/panigrc/Desktop/azureus/plugins/azplugins/azplugins_2.1.3.jar /home/panigrc/.azureus/plugins/azplugins/azplugins_2.1.3.jar

sudo cp /home/panigrc/Desktop/azureus/plugins/azupdater/Updater.jar /home/panigrc/.azureus/plugins/azupdater/

Now I am starting azureus, and for the last 24 hours It didn't crash.

So probably that is the solution for the azureus crashes.
